South London Native Kid Bookie drops the video for his UK-US collaboration titled ‘Premonition’ featuring Christie, Nasaan and Dot Rotten
Taken from the ‘You’ll Rate Me When I’m Dead’ mixtape that launched via MTV, Premonition brings a clash of flows between UK and US influences giving the track a raw texture, fusing a hybrid of sounds that fuse in to one and makes the record the second to receive the co-sign from Eminem’s camp.
Kid Bookie is a raw, genre-defying talent with chopper like flows that is receiving some serious support. At the tender age of 16 he first stepped into the scene and got his first taste of music, where he joined rap royalty Dot Rotton on Tim Westwood’s BBC 1Xtra and he has since gone on to build a strong support system on both sides of the Atlantic.
The dramatic clip is directed by Wowa and Astro even features some old school technology. In the middle of the video, they bust out an old VHS tape, turning the visuals into grainy, throwback format.
The song lives on Kid Bookie and Christie’s recent mixtape You’ll Rate Me When I’m Dead, which dropped back in June. Although Kid Bookie hails from London, he’s been making some major connections across the pond. He linked up with Crooked I of Slaughterhouse and former D12 member Kuniva back in 2014 for their track “Evolution,” which also featured artists like Scruffizer, Lady Leshurr and Dot Rotten (now known as Zeph Ellis).
If he’s not already on your radar, DeeperThebeats introduces you to this rising talent as definitely One To Watch.
