“Backed by full band – horns, guest vocals – it was an impressive show. Capturing the velvet grit of 50s and 60s R&B” CLASH
Leon Bridges is pleased to announce details of a first UK tour for the Summer 2015.
Leon Bridges’ first strides as a retro-soul artist prompted comparisons to R&B legends like Sam Cooke and Otis Redding. A singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Bridges performed in and around Fort Worth, Texas and stirred up music industry interest with analog recordings, produced by Justin Block and Austin Jenkins of White Denim, which were uploaded to his Soundcloud page. Signed to major-label Columbia, his first singles — including a rich ballad written about his mother — appeared in February 2015 with a sound that evoked mid- to late-’60s soul. The following month, Bridges caught more attention with a performance at the South by Southwest Festival, roughly 200 miles south of his home base.
The young Fort Worth, Texan who made his first trip outside of the US to play London earlier this year, will return in July to headline four new dates in support of his debut album, Coming Home. He then returns in September to headline London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.
Coming Home is released in the UK on 22nd June through Columbia Records and can be pre ordered here – http://smarturl.it/LBComingHomeiTu
It was produced by Austin Jenkins and Josh Block from fellow Texans White Denim, and includes Leon’s acclaimed debut tracks Coming Home and Lisa Sawyer. A new single, Better Man, precedes the single on the 14th June.

As previously reported, Leon Bridges will play a sold-out show at London’s Village Underground on 20th May, and at the new Citadel Festival in London’s Victoria Park on the 19th July.
Last week Leon was invited to perform at The Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, performing both Dedicated To The One I Love and When Man A Man Loves A Woman, in honouring The 5 Royales into the Hall Of Fame and in memory of Percy Sledge a past inductee.
