Chris Brown’s new album ‘Royalty’ was supposed to drop on Friday (27/11/15) but after some rumours that Rihanna’s new album ‘Anti’ was also set to be released as well, Team CB pushed back the release date to the 18th December. After disappointment amongst his fans, Breezy released a mixtape on DatPiff.com comprised of 34 tracks instead. Yes, you read correctly, 34 tracks. Chris has been teasing his fans with footage and photos from the studio on his Instagram for months but this is like Christmas has come early.
The mixtape titled ‘Before the Party’ features Rihanna, Wiz Khalifa, R Kelly, Wale, Tyga, French Montana & Fetty Wap. The tracks are hugely varied true to Brown’s style. There are songs for the
ladies, as expected, such as ‘Fan (Freak At Night)’ and ‘Freaky Shit’; songs for the club like ‘Hell of a Night’ and ‘Go’ and tracks about troubled relationships like ‘The Breakup’ and ‘Scared to Love’.
Brown even compares one relationship to breathing in second hand smoke on ‘Second Hand Love’. Chris continues to show his abilities as a rapper on ‘Holy Angel’ as he switches up his tone and flow whilst also showcasing his voice on ‘Seasons Change’ with no gimmicks.
Although the album release date was postponed, it is available to pre-order now and includes tracks
‘Liquor’, ‘Back to Sleep’ and ‘Zero’ and a new song called ‘Fine By Me’. As well as the mixtape, he
also released the new music video to ‘Fine by Me’ today too which is like a short film and follows up
from the video to ‘Liquor’ and ‘Zero’. It has been a huge day for Team CB and after hearing the mixtape, we can only predict that his next album is going to be a huge success and we cannot wait for ‘Royalty’ to drop.
