It is reported that Wikipedia, Twitter, and AOL’s Instant Messenger all crashed at 3:15PM on the day MJ died: June 25, 2009. His journey from a young musical genius to a worldwide superstar who sold an estimated 750 million albums.

Michael Jackson Interesting Facts

Michael has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (one for himself and one as part of the Jackson Five) Jackson was a vegetarian.

Jackson invented a shoe device that allowed dancers to lean forward at gravity defying angles, and owns the patent for the special anti-gravity boots he wore that allowed him to lean forward extremely far in live performances of “Smooth Criminal.”

His first song to hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart was “Ben” in 1972.

The King of Pop’s hits included Beat It, Billie Jean and Thriller and his 1982 album was the best-selling album of all time, with more than 26 million copies sold.

MJ was a huge Beatles fan. He paid $47 million for the publishing rights to the Beatles back catalogue in 1985 and sold a share of it to Sony in 1995 for $95 million.

Jackson’s 13 number one hits on the US Billboard charts put him behind only Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Mariah Carey.
